We are burning up the WIPS over here in San Antonio...
After finishing the sweater last night I picked up my baby blanket (knitted for a baby that is already here now) and realized that I as close to the end. So after a few hours of knitting this evening, I completed the blanket.
Oh yeah-- That would be two WIPS this Olympics.
The pattern is the "Beautiful Texture Blanket" from the Plymouth Encore booklet "The 8-Hour Baby Blanket Revisited." I used 4 balls of Plymouth Encore (it is knit with yarn held double) on size 10 needles (the pattern calls for size 13 needles, but I knit really loose.) The resulting pattern is sqooshy and soft and will make a wonderful blanket. I now have to get it off to the intended recipient.
By the way, this blanket took more than eight hours of knitting (and I am a relatively fast knitter)- I would say closer to 12 hours of total knitting, but the pattern is really easy (I got bored and put it aside for a while.)
So what is next? Well, I have two projects I want to start, but those will wait for the moment. I have one more WIP that I want to finish and that is the Ishbel shawl. So that is next. Just trying to clear out the backlog a bit... let's see if I can stick to this, but so far having two FOs in a week feels really good.
Oh it's very nice! 12 hours isn't bad for a baby blanket. I love those books though that give time estimates, they are never ever accurate.

I love the look of that pattern. Can you share the pattern? I am a basic knitter that looks like it is up my alley.
Thanks
