I had a moment and fell down and spent a lot of money on yarn last week. A total fall-down. I have my LYS to blame for this--they had just stocked Koigu and it turns out that I cannot resist Koigu in the flesh.
The top three are for a scarf and the bottom five are for a Charlotte's Web shawl.
Its not like I really needed new yarn or anything but I just could not resist! (Oh I know- bad excuse!!!)
Finals are coming up and because I have been sick and behind on grading and behind on life (hi life- thanks for being a bit out of control!!) I haven't been knitting much at all.... but as it turns out mitered squares and Koigu are just the cure for these problems.
Each square is oddly satisfying although the scarf limps along at a slow pace. But right now that is a lot like how life is for me- limping along at a slow pace...
Egads and the blog. This year I have been really bad about updating the blog. I have been trying to decide what I should do about the blog, does it stay or does it go, or should I be more committed it it? More pictures, more yarn, more Milo and Chloe? The blog seems a bit directionless at the moment, and if anyone has any advice for me, that would be awesome... meanwhile I have papers to grade.....
That is a lovely scarf. I like mitered blocks, you are right there is something satisfying about knitting them.
I've kinda in the same boat blogwise. I just don't know how much energy I have to put into it, so I'm just kinda doing as I want as I want to do it, and trying very hard to not put pressure on myself to blog just because other people expect it.
But I very much enjoy your blog, so I do hope you keep it up at whatever pace is good for you, whether that's once a year or once a day, or once a decade. Although I bet in a decade we'll all be doing something other than blogging. Maybe.

I'm smitten with your scarf; it seems like it would be a great stash buster without the commitment of a whole blanket out of sock yarn scraps. and I agree - please keep blogging, even at a slower pace - I love the updates.
